    So have you guys seen the Opeth tour this year? I went to the Houston show and it was great! I have really taken a liken to this band!

    Ken,  yep!  Just saw them in Chicago Friday night at the Vic Theater.  Had purchased the meet and greet ticket and they did not disappoint, playing a 3 song warmup set for the 25 or so of us luck enough to get in early. Perched on the rail dead center, I was able to fully appreciate the band's playing and especially the great tones Mike gets from his rig.  One of my favorite live acts - can't wait to see them again.

    PS - Went onward to Detroit Saturday for Joe Bonamassa at he Fox Theater with Sharon and Ken Hromada. Sorry, I did not get to meet Detroit Dan this time around. Another great gig in a stunningly preserved theater that is a work of art in itself.

    Overall, a very good weekend...Heritage kicks ass!

    Love Damnation.  But i think their "Moving Pictures" is Blackwater Park.  Such lush soundscapes in that one.

    If one wanted to indulge into this realm, what would be the place to start?  I picked up one of their CD's a few months ago, liked a couple of their songs then some just sounded like that typical metal growling sound and guess I'm not into that.  Don't ask me what the release was, lol

    T, concur with Ken; very accessible...Damnation.  Heritage as well; very classic sound.
