An old friend of mine, who is a journalist for a big music magazine
recently interviewed the boys posted this on his facebook page
"Excellent news coming soon. Kimonos optional.". What the news is , he
    didn't say.

In Rolling Stone Geddy was asked about doing a different album in its entirety, and said it was a definite possibility:

Do you think you guys might perform another album on a future tour?
    I
think we would. I would love to try that idea again. I thought it was
really fun. And given the fact that we play for almost three hours, you
can do that and still have lots of time left over to play other stuff.
We had time for our newer songs and we had time for more obscure songs.
So it kind of works in the way we present ourselves.

I'd love to hear 2112 straight through.
I think that's something that would be fun to try.

    Do you think it's possible?
    Oh yeah, it's definitely possible.

Maybe 2112 this time around?  That would appeal to the Rush geek in all of us I think.

I guess I don't get the appeal of doing 2112 all the way through. They played all of 2112 a few tours back. It doesn't seem like that long ago. We heard some of A Passage to Bangkok in the medley to open R30 (albeit would love to hear the whole song). The rest of the songs on that album are okay but concert worthy? You play Tears in concert and what are we supposed to do...pull out the hankies? I would plead for them to do another album in its entirety instead. I would love Signals or Power Windows personally...or Vapor Trails if they could pull it off. I understand the whole 2112/2012 thing is working against me, though. Obviously, they do the 2112 thing every tour and cut it off early...but I'm in no hurry to stand through 2112 in its entirety again. It was long the first time I heard it and it will be even longer the second time I hear it. But, Rush can and will do what they want. It's not really about us even if they claim it is. It's about what album they can stand to play all the way through for however many shows. Moving Pictures was a no-brainer...even with Camera Eye in the middle.

As far as I can remember, they have not played the whole 2112 since the TFE tour, so maybe 1996?  I could be wrong since my memory is not what it used to be, so feel free to correct me if so.

I think there will be people who would be unhappy with a track or two off of just about any album. For instance, as good as Signals is, I don't think too many people would be clamoring to hear "Losing It" live.  I personally like that song, but I don't know that it is awesome concert material.

I would love to see any album they want to do, or any set list they choose.  I have never been to a bad show from the boys, and what interests them to play always turns out to be great entertainment for me. Even songs that are not my favorites on a studio album seem to sound great live.  I just hope they tour again soon.

Yes, TFE tour sounds about right. The year may have been 1996 or whatever...but it only feels like a few tours back to me and not that long ago even though actual elapsed time has been 15 years.

Only the die-hard Rush fans will tolerate most of Side "B" on 2112. It will be an extended bathroom break for most everyone else. But, if Rush wants to do it, then so be it. At least we can sit down during those songs and take a break. lol

Yes, every album has songs many people wouldn't care to here and one fan's gold is another fan's trash.

While I'm not in a hurry to see them play the entire 2112 album, I'll live. The fact is I should be open to anything they don't play regularly...because Rush has a repeating list of songs they play every tour. Some may retire for a tour or two...and then come back. But, any time Rush wants to play something they haven't played before live, then I'm okay with that...even though I would prefer another album played in its entirety obviously. What would really put the crowd to sleep but be really exciting to me is to just play the entire new album live. I would LOVE that!

    more importantly over whats played

    and when...I'm most interested where

they will play. no matter the time of
year I will make at least one show,
no matter whats played I will make
at least one show. depending on
    locations played decides how many
    shows I'm able to attend.

    alwayz RUSH'n

Permanent Waves would be a good start to finish album, but they have done most of those songs repeatedly. Jacob's Ladder would be awesome to bring back though.

A Farewell to Kings would be another nice one, though not sure about Madrigal in there.

Heck, in looking at it, I think just about any one they wanted to do would be just fine by me.  Even the poorly received Caress of Steel would be good in my book.  I would really like to hear The Necromancer live.  I have heard some really bad bootlegs of that but never even a halfway decent recording.

I would also agree that doing the new one all the way through would be great, so long as they release it in time for me to get to know it first.  They did a large portion of Snakes and Arrows, actually way more than I would have guessed, during that tour, so who knows?  Although, I think if they go through the effort they would be much more likely to do a "real" album from the days of vinyl.

2112 it's a slam dunk, although it would be nice to hear other stuff like side 1 Hemispheres but as I recall the boys felt rushed and not completely happy with it

When they played 2112 on the T4E tour it was side one only, and it was amazing. I agree with Surfguy that tears would be a little hard to take live, but personally I would love to see Something for Nothing, and Lessons played live in their entirety, being two of my all time favourite RUSH songs. I would also really enjoy seeing Signals played all the way through. The great songs on that album far outweigh the couple of "so-so" ones.
